The 2012 British GT season kicked-off at Oulton Park over the Easter Weekend with MTECH taking two podiums!

The team fielded a single car for their usual pairing of Duncan Cameron & Matt Griffin who topped the timesheets in Free Practice 1 in cloudy wet conditions before setting 2nd fastest in the dry second session.

Qualifying saw Duncan put his car on Grid 5 for the first wet race battling through to take the final podium position. Race two saw Griffin line up 3rd before spending much of his stint in second with Simonson pushing hard to get past which he did just before the pit stops. Cameron took the car out for his stint having closed the gap to the Rosso Verde car in the pit stop. With Lestor driving defensively Duncan could only follow and keep up the pressure.

Finally at the start of the penultimate lap DC went for the inside at the first corner. Lester turned in without seeing the MTECH car, hitting it and sliding off on to the grass leaving DC to take second place and another welcome podium.

Sean Walkinshaw (son of the Late Tom Walkinshaw - founder of TWR & owner of Arrows GP team) today confirmed his seat for the 2012 BARC Formula Renault Championship with race winners MTECH Lite.

“I tested with MTECH LIte at the end of last year setting my best ever time at Snetterton  even though it was a cold and damp day! I was really impressed with the team and the feedback from the engineers, so I’m very confident about the coming season” said Sean

Team Principle, Mike Edmonds said “We are really pleased to have signed Sean. MTECH Lite are a great team, employing top engineers and driver coaches to assist Sean’s progress as he starts his second year in BARC Formula Renault. We are close to signing our second driver to join Sean which will put us in a very strong position”.

MTECH are please to announce the introduction of our new supercar sales facility.

"Having undertaken the procurement of a number of high level cars for some of our racing customers, It seemed a logical extension to set-up a dedicated company within the MTECH group", said Managing Director Mike Edmonds.

"Due to the pressures of running the racing team we have had to turn away potential clients wanting this service, so I took the decision to join forces with an old friend with experince of this service and out of the discussions has come MTECH GT Ltd", Mike explained.
